On the 11th I sent Lieut Maxon with his Company Westward to the Head of the Pendasco & the main Command moved to Silver Springs & the Sacramento Mountains. Maxon struck an Indian fresh train - probably the remains of what got away from Lebo & followed it into a Canon withing 12 miles of the Agency on the South & thence unclear Eastward (East) & joined us at Silver Springs (where a large party of Indians has lately encamped & marched Northwest through the mountains & through canyons & pine forests to the Agency. Sent the train round via Elk Spring & thence westward to the agency - All extra horses
