afternoon bathing. Some bass, perch & colfish have been caught by the Officers & Soldiers - and a few ducks killed.

I have not had time to take a bath - but may do so before starting to-morrow.

There is an extensive fire in the Guadalupe Mountains - which we presume has been started by the Indians.

Lieut Esterly returned this afternoon from his scout - after a long & tiresome march.

It is 11.O.Clock so I will stop & go to bed.
