Mr Web & Lieut Maxon & Charlie have been out hunting ducks up Delaware Creek and others have been fishing - one of D or L Co men caught a cod fish about 3 foot long.

We expect to catch plenty of fish when we get to Black River - Will probably send back the train brought out by Capt. Lebo from Davis on the sixth and will then send you this. And the three sheets written heretofore & whatelse I may have time to write to you to-morrow.

The Guadalupe Mountians loom up more grandly - but are still about 20 miles distant. We have had but little wind or dust to-day. The sun shone brightly & the day has been quite warm.
