Remsen, Feb. 15, 1872 Dear Mary, Mother came home on the morning train yesterday. Carroll was better before they got there and continued to gain. Yesterday they were going to dress him for the first time since he was taken sick - he slept with his father and mother Tuesday night, slept all night. The night before his two grandma's watched with him. Anna remained in Turin - hoping Sara would join her there before she comes home. Sara has not yet come downstairs - she sat up some yesterday in the arm chair by the dumb-stove We have had very pleasant weather for some time till Tuesday P.M.
