cordial welcome as also did his wife. She got us a most tempting dinner and withal was so kind and cheery that we could not help eat and enjoy it too tho' we had just lunched at the depot before we thought of waiting over a train- After dinner Cynthia took a nice seat on the bed and when we started Mrs. R. gave us apples, oranges, and blawd ceirch to eat on the way - they gave a nice relish to our home lunch and we especially enjoyed the oat-bread. Our visit and the kindness received did us lots of good - We got in the cars in good season without any hurry and found plenty of room - had a very pleasant journey - We did not stop often but at Little Falls we would have been glad if they would have stopped

in margin: Mrs. Roberts sent much love to our sisters and especially to mother.
