123 Wm Hodges & Stephen Hodges wer hung for murdering John Miller of Lee Co. they took a change of vienue to Desmoines Co. Hon Chas Mason Judge John H. McKinny Sheriff.

Joel Hargrove foreman of the Jury that pronounced them guilty of murder they committed the murder on or about the 10th day of May 1845. they were tried in Burlington Desmoin following month June term ad convicted & sentenced pronounced on the 24th day of June 45 on unknown as guilty of murder and ordered to be returned to Jail from they came. thereto remain until Tuesday fifteenth day of July and on that day be taken out by the proper officers of this county to some convienient place within the same and their between the hours of 10 o clock A.M. & 4 o clock P.M that they be hanged by the neck until dead
