On approaching the city the appearance from the Harbour is very beautiful, much like a painting. The Entrance into the harbour is close along aside the Moro Castle and light house, which has a revolving light. The entrance is scarcely wide enough for two ships abreast. The harbour is large, commodious and safe for Ships of any size. The houses are built in a different stile from any that I have ever before seen. They are of rough stone laid in mortar, and plastered upon the outside as well as upon the inside, and the outside is generally painted or coloured with some fancy colour, such as White, Blue, Green, Red &c with this variety of colours it presents a neat and picturesque appearance. The walls are built up two or three feet
