My dear Sister;

    It seems a long time since we heard from you last. We are quite anxious to  hear how you are, and how you are getting along  with your studies. I thought you said you were going to write a great many letters during the vacation, but I assure you we have not seen much of the fruit of your labor. Dear Mary we have been very negligent in writing to you of late, but you must "forgive and forget" wont  you dear Mary.  I thank you very much for those few lines you wrote me in your last letter. You are a good girl for remembering your sister Anna. We got that letter and another one to  Sarah from you, the same day. I wrote to Lizzie yesterday, it is a good while since we have heard from her. We have been expecting her up here now for  some time, but have seen nothing of her  as yet.
