[tus?] you see we Spent Christmas in the line of battle we have plenty to eat and but little to do we are staying in a old church house wher we can keep dry but have no stove to warm us we had plenty of chicken on new years but i wont tell you how we got them I like Soldiering vary well i would like to see you and my children but don't expect to till my time is out it is thought by the most the folks here that the war will be over by next Spring
