Millikins Bend La. Mar. 21st 1863 Dear Brother Charlie I received your long and welcome letter last Wednesday, and was greatly interested in its contence. Also got one from home at the same time, in which they informed me of the death of your infant, and of Carrie's protractd ilness. I can keep myself in good spirits as long as everybody is well at home, but when sickness enters our houshold then I feel homesick.
