In camp near Murfreesboro Feb'y 10th/63 Tuesday - P.A.

My Dear Mother We have just finished our army meal, consisting today of Baked-beans-pork and coffee, and to top-off with I am going to write you a short epistle. I received a letter a couple of days ago from father, dated Jany 9th also a couple of Journals and a "Presbyterian Witness". I cannot exactly say That I was pleased, at seeing in one of the Journals some extracts from my letter of the 9th which was writing hurriedly home, after the battle If any more extracts are taken from letters which I write home, to be put in print, it will be six months before another one will follow it, so I hope it will be dropped. We have not yet changed camp having been in our present camp now over a month, it has been the longest rest which we have had since we left camp Douglas, both men and horses
