Home Ills July 28th 1865 Dear Son I have been looking for a letter with your likeness in it but it does not come why I do not know I fear my letters have not reached you I have written a number of letters since you came to Louisville but it seems they do not reach you as you complain of not getting news from home I have not been able to write for a few days back my health is not very good this summer I seem to be so weak o'h I am so provoked that you could not come home it is downright meanness in the officers I would rebel I believe and complain to headquarters of the miner officers
