Camp Defiance May 15 Dear Brother I have jest ate my breakfast and I now take a seat on the ground with a board in my lap to inform that Cidney and Burl arraived here last evening I was out on the levy when they Come in to Camp when I was coming back from the levy I was told they had come and brought me 2 letters and I took to my heels and dident stop till I got to the Camp and got the very interesting letters. we havent been attacted as yet but we dont know what night we will be. there hasent been but one or two 32 pounders arrived here yet we havent heard anything of large forces coming here the
