Soldier and not expected to kill as easy as common folks and what is the difference if it does kill a few of them for they are no friends of the citizens of this town. For the past three days we have been buisy and there has been considerable excitement in getting ready to take the field but to day things have cooled down a little and we are in suspence as to what is to be done. Col. Dudley of the 30th Mass. has returned from Mass. with his Regt. of reenlisted Veterans As his Regt. has never seen any service he thought it best to secure a position in the City rather that to take them to the field at this late date. For this reason he left no stone
