Camp Butler Aug. 24 /62 Dear Sister Sunday in camp with the exceptions of drill is the same as any other day. Camp Butler is about 6 miles from Springfield and 1/4 of a mile from the Sangamon river. The camp that is under guard is about one hundred acres (for the new volunteers that have enlisted for three years) There are 6 regiments in this camp, of about 4500 men, it is one continuous bustle from morning till night and from night till morning again, it is situated on rolling ground with
