My Dear Wife, I can inform that my health is still on the mend, I feel quite well, except I am weak, but think I will get along without having any more chills or fever, - It was 2.O'Clk yesterday afternoon before we arrived here, in consequence of getting aground several Times the River has fallen very fast since we went up, I have bought a Keel Boat here for the purpose of lighting out, and hope we will not have any more bad luck, - We are picking up some unclear and freight, I expect to have her to day about 10, O'Clk A.M.- Charly is well, and seems to like the business of Steam boating very much, it is just about animation enough for him as he always likes to be in a crowd,- I would like very much to see you and our interesting little daughter this morning, but my wish is in vain. I must try to content myself for a while.- As I have nothing very particular to write I will close, by sending my best love to you all, & lots of kisses to you & our little daughter.- From your affectionate Husband C.G.Pearce
