We have been in a state of commotion for the past few days about the unclear 2 words Messengers have been sent to the seat of war, who returned last night again asking for men. So a company of about 140 started off this morning in all the pomp & circumstance of War - and this evening we learn by Telegraph from the unclear to the Gov. that troops enough have been sent - we hear many reports of their doings in Morgantown - such as the burning of all the stores (Mr Norway, among them) and that they made Mrs N. & Kate cook for them, which I don;'t believe - Well I suppose we are safe again. Mr. unclear was not taken in a car & he had stopped to rest on the Sabbath at Fairmont. So it may not be true about Mr. Pierpont we shall know all in a few days - Julius & Annie came this evening - Julius has an agency to see Reapers & Mowers -(I think Reapers too - for the present. I hope you will be in better spirits and write me so - poor Jane she thought to escape from a cross man by going to you - I cant believe you mean to be one - Pa & Willie are gone to the farm to fish all night - and to be in to breakfast - poor Charlie had a cold & could not go - Mr Norway? got home today - A thousand bushels of love to you dear Johnny from your Loving Mother --
