Nov. 15th 1863

My dear Brother, I intended writing to you before Jane left you, but was lazy & busy - & did not. I was going to remind you of the interest due me on the 1st Nov? & which I depend on for my Christmas money. I did intend to ask you for 100 dollars of the principal to get me some furs - in case I go to Washington. I have not yet made up my mind, whether to go or not, as the children are both anxious to remain here & to go to school, & I know it is so much better for them, that I can't bear to take my own pleasure at their expense. If perfectly convenient, you may send it - if not, wait until I need it - I have been thinking of buying Julius's house - & in that case would ask you to pay me in the spring if you could, 1000 dollars but Mr Wills thinks Julius' asks
