8 But how does this power operate? Along what lines of Chr. thought and faith does it move?

From the teaching of the Apostles, and the place it holds among other truths the resurrection of X furnishes us an inconstistable proof of the truth of X'tianity. It is a power to convince men - His mighty works were not all sufficient proof of his Godhead, and were constantly misinterpreted - They were designed to prove the divinity of his mission, of his Messiahship. The idea might have remained that some being less than God could do these things as in case of the prophets and apostles, But his resurrection cleared away all doubts, no being could lay down his life and take it again without being God. This sealed his omnipotence, and completed the proof of his Godhead. All his teaching and promises depended upon this - All looked from and to a life and a reign of power beyond the grave.
