La Fayette Dec 25, 1855 Brother Nathan

   I presume You Wonder about receiving letters from me but Evry moment almost I am busy since I wrote You I have built me a Small barn 26 feet Wide 32 feet long have had my corn to cut up feed lot to make money to collect & thousand almost of other things to attend to I have 50 odd head of cattle wintering & co the man that built the barn will Build the house but do not know as I Shall be Able to furnish him money to do so he wants me to let him Know the next time I go out  now Can you help me any if You can I will Try & do as much for You if You have any money You can spare now I should like it much -  I find I have to much on my hands more than I can well attend to and in order to be comfortable Shall be obliged to rent my farm some way the Coming Year. Sarah health has been very poor Since the Death of Eddy * I feel it as my duty to make her as comfortable as possible. I Received a letter from Sarah & her Husband & shall Answer them soon also one from Lydia Wish that David would writ me like to hear from my brother & Sister Wish I might write them oftener please answer this by return mail & let me hear anything new from Brother & Sister
