My dear cousin Abby,

                         Charles was at Somerville last evening, an informed is that the should leave for home to-day or to-morrow and as I am owing you a letter, thought it would be a good opportunity to send you a few lines at least, acknowledging the receipt of your last favor and also to thank you for the same. I had begun to think that you had entirely forgotten your cousin Agnes, and that you never intended to favor her again with your friendly missives. I am glad that my conjectures have proved incorrect, and that I can feel that I still retain a place in your affections, although you have formed nearer and dearer ties since I saw you. I congratulate you most heartily on your future prospects and sincerely hope that they may ever be as bright as you have pictured them. I cannot find words to
