this vicinity I felt that you would come again -- but when you took your final leave, a feeling of loneliness came over me as it always does when my friends go from me after having been with me for a season. I have thought of you a great many times, and have drawn a great many imaginary pictures of the places you have visited, and of the various ways in which you have found enjoyment and happiness. I wish I could have done more towards making your visit here a pleasant one, but it was not in my power to devote my time to you as I would have been glad to have done. It really gave me much pleasure to have you and Mary here, and I enjoyed being with you very much. Only think! Abby fifteen weeks to day since we met.
