Walpole May 3d 1856 My dear sister Abby: I received your letter Thursday and I was happy enough to hear from you. True, I had looked and expected ever since I came here to hear from you, every mail. But I could not write you until I had heard from you, as I did not know where you was. So I have been waiting patiently as possible. But it has seemed long, for I have heard from home only once, and that was but a few lines that Charles wrote Fast Day. Sometimes I feel afraid some of them are sick. I wish I could hear. If Charles was at home I should before this time I know. His being in Boston accounts for it in a measure. I shall write home again soon.
