Dear Brother Nathan,

Your long wished for letter has been with us some little time but I have not been able to sit down to answer it until now. I need not tell you how glad we were to hear from you Myron and Jesse it had been so long since we had had tidings from either of you. The thought had sometimes forced itself upon me that Jesse was dead as I had not been able to learn anything of him since July. He is surely to be pitied. My heart bleeds for him and as often as I think of his situation so often do I feel that I would willingly give my life for his salvation here below. I know he suffers

to write him Would like to write you more but cannot now. Shall write some to Myron and you must read that. Write soon and often all particulars Had begun a letter to you both before I received yours. It is real "Yankee" weather here now. Good bye, Affect. Sister Sarah You read Myron's letter and let him read yours sil vous plait
