Dear brother As you say I must acknowledge that I have been very negligent in not answering your last letter and Sister's, but I thought you would go to Chesterfield so soon that I would delay it until you was there, and since then I have spoken of it almost every day but still have neglected to, for I am very busy therefore I trust you will both pardon me. You wrote about my teaching school at Chesterfield. I had calculated to teach this summer until I cam here but brother will not consent to it, he wishes to have me get through my studies as quick as possible and I should like to soon myself but still I fell as thought it was my duty to wait untill I am better able and teach in the meantime, I had a letter about a fortnight since from Mr Goodrow of Hinsdale requesting me come there again this summer and take both schools as they are going to have them united this summer. there will be about fifth scholars and the school existing weeks long, but I refused as Raymond wished me to attend school so you will have to get some one else as teacher at Chesterfield I am studying this term as hard as ever, I am reading Virgil and Caesar in Latin attending to ? and Drawing and go into French when I have time and as mind to, which is not very constantly for you know I don't think so much of our French teacher (Miss Gay) as I used to did. She is exceedingly good to me and would like to be very intimate with me but

Please give my respect to Mrs John and Miss Charlotte Marsh
