This is the most ornery, God-Forsaken abandoned goat's nest yet. There isn't a town for 90 miles, and that one is bone-dry. As you'd say, ANY PLACE BUT HERE. The wind blows by at a great rate, bringing ice, hail, sleet and snow. Saw a couple reviews of yours in an old issue of the Sun. What became of George Martin? Heard Dick Wright was inducted. I have a chance to learn radio here, and may take advantage of it. The barracks are filling withsporty-new rookies, so it looks like a long stretch to a furlough. A number of them are Indians; ?Aushmore's? old man sleeps in the bunk by mine. He usually rises, restlessly, about 2 AM. and pitches a wigwam in the battery street. Claims he can't sleep on a cot. Give my best to everyone, and beware the deadly ginger beer. BEST, Nelson
