Dear Jack, 12/28/86

I'm sorry I have been such a poor and

infrequent letter writer. And I hope this finds you both in reasonably good health and in the best of spirits.

Your WEED KING is fabulously lovely, a pure

pleasure. The sooner hound is my very favorite -- because it reminds us of our pet greyhound "Blazer" and his predecessor "Twig." They are wondrous smart dogs, greyhounds.

The reasons I am way behind on everything are

in the enclosed form letter. I wrote it last summer but haven't even had time to send them out.

The lecture circuit has finally simmered down. I did

only 27 last semester and will have only 16 or 18 that spring.

We still go to NH summers and struggle with the

big garden and 20 years of neglected maintenance on the little house. Underground drains clogging, floors falling through, etc. (over)
