have a long recuperation. He had had another operation the day after Christmas so I am sure he is ready to say goodby to hospitals forever. I did tell you, too, underlined: I think that he's having a volume of poetry out from Scribner's in October of this year & has kindly dedicated it to my mother, who would be mighty proud.

   The little hearts on the front of this card hanging from the tree were not put there by the original artist, Li Wên-Han, but by me, & are valentines for you and Mrs. Conroy from me.  Sincerely, Peggy Werbley
