New address. 'Cross the river and 'mong the trees. Spickert Knob Road Route 1 Floyd Knobs, Indiana Aug 30, 1958 Dear Jack:

This summer I've found myself no place further than Sullivan 16 miles away It's been my longest stint sticking to a desk, and in this weather often no metaphor. Done up, old critic style, Ivy Compton-Burnett, Graham Greene, Rose Macaulay, Evelyn Waugh. Maybe you saw my C. P. Snow in the underlined: Saturday Review, July 9. Pretty badly cut up but Snow liked and a lot of other letters underlined: saying so. I just sent my A. Huxley chapter to the,. Now on to teach, not so gladly, and, as I can, to continue with ______, _______, and God knows how too many others.
Sorry about your son-in-law. Apart from the sadness it must be a strain on you and on Gladys.
Haven't seen anything of Nelson's because I don't get the underlined: Trib or underlined: Nation. Me I read the underlined: New Statesman and the underlined: SR's I'm in. Is Nelson out to become bad-boy critic of bad boys or what?
New critic, to me most of the time, is a bad name, though the bastards are elegantly intelligent
