Dec 3rd 1967 Dear Jack,

Here I am re-settled in England! I am still working furiously on the details of my William Carlos Williams book.
Just before I left the U.S. of A I came across a puzzling episode in Williams' career, and I think you may have some information for me! It seems his old friend Robert Carlton Brown established a community - the Llano colony - somewhere down in Arkansas or Tennessee. It was to have supported itself on a find of oil, I believe. Williams was interested in it. I wonder if you would write me a letter telling me what you know about it.
It is underlined: said that Williams put $500.00 into the venture but couldn't get away from his practice to go down there. I'm not sure of that. But Brown was an old pal, and Williams was always hopeful of communes!
When you come to England next please let me know. We'll prowl around London together.

Best wishes, Yours, Mike Weaver
