6/12/85 Dear Jack, I hope this reaches you, somehow, Jack & I hope you are better.

    I have sad news.  Harold died June 1.  He, I & Michael was sitting on the side of the bed.  He was here at home.  Michael was holding him in his arms & he just died.
    We learned Feb 4 he had cancer of the lung & lymph nodes around windpipe.  He had 36 radiation treatments.  Up & around.  Not a lot of energy, but up & around.  My life is not much without him.  I am going to St. Louis.  Stay with Polly for a few weeks.  
    Last year Midwest distributors sent me a list so I sent for Writers in Revolt, The Anvil Anthology & Meridel Le Sueur's Harvest & Song for My Time.   Harold he read each twice.  I do hope this reaches you, Jack & I do hope you are on the mend.
