2 I meant to write to you before but I couldn't get your address. I still think the printer may have made a mistake on your beautiful letter-head. There's no 69 anywhere! How come? I am now a turret expediter at the Emerson Electric Co. We make turrets for Flying Fortress and Liberator bombers. Specifically I expedite for the Lower Sperry or ball turret, and supervise three small, despondent 4F expediters. None of them, however, will say "yessir" to me. I'm on the night shift. We have about 2000 women and 400 men so some of the guys (though not me, since Mary may read this) are fond of calling themselves sexpediters. This war has certainly scattered all of us hell, west, and crashed. You, alone, hold the fort in Chcago. Vic, I hear, is in North Africa on "shore duty" - which probably means the brig. I want to write to him if I can ever sit down to do it.
