4 meet the budget would have emasculated the book and make it competitive with some already in the field.

I contributed a chapter to a book to appear in August. - I don't expect to participate in royalties. In fact some of my colleagues waive royalties in order to get publication in the form they want.
The serious type of paper books interest me. We need them and have needed them for years. The French had them - long long ago. Our local town library here has a good, successful section devoted to them. A locally invented quick binding is used to give greater wear.
I was on a weekly trade journal in Chicago for a time in 1928. I was getting to know some of the local literary and artistic personalities of the near north Side - interesting folks - tho perhaps tinged with a bit of bohemianism. I suppose you have discovered a group of congenial crossed out: fellows people and have some stimulation from the group. I suppose that there is considerable creative activity there as always.
It is indeed interesting to encounter some old acquaintances - tho by pen - once again. It is truly a small world!

Sincerely -

V. T. Stoutemyer
