Dear Jack,

     Forgive my delay in responding to your good letter and enclosure of fine statement and poetry, but I have been much occupied in the weighing of and the final decision of changing S&S from periodical to anthology.  It was not an easy task.
    Ashley did a fine job on Jack Conroy, but then he had good material to work with!  If acceptable to you, several of your poems will appear in the 1976 Anthology & the remainder (along with your "biog-sketch", statement, and other poems) in the 1977 Anthology.   Perhaps you could send others (poems) for the '77 edition?
     Your "bio-sketch" will appear as is.  If it goes against one's grain, too bad.  I long ago cease to allow others to dictate to me.  One should "write" his own life; if there is a misspelled word or wrong tense, so be it - at least they will be his own mistakes or experiences, whichever way he interprets it, right?
     Your life & work will add much to those of our readers ...already, they have to mine!  Warm Regards, Jean
