during a brief stay at Chris & Neal's. Chris xeroxed for me an article on Nelson, sad face, quotes from his writings etc. Recently read "the non-story of the year: Algren's moving to Patterson." Meridel stayed with Amanda several days & did much to get her out of her shell. Will try again to stir her by a letter when I can. How things pile up!
