3 They all need a little pruning. Now that we got a lot of snow the rabbits are getting hungry and they have been chewing up my spirea bushes which decorate one corner of the house. I've got a notion to sit up some night with my .410 shotgun and wait for them. Night-time is when they come out.

There are a lot of rabbits around here. I had a terrible time with them in our vegetable garden last summer. I always give son Tony a little garden space

of his own and the rabbits ate all the beans and lettuce. I think this spring I'm going to invest in some kind of fence. another thing that works well is dried cow's blood. It's sold as a fertilizer and can be purchased at any feed & fertilizer store.

I ordered all my garden seeds for this year, mostly from Burpee's in Iowa and from Park's in Carolina. I've always had good luck with their seeds. There is

another company, Mellinger's, which is a wholesale house that sells mostly to commercial growers, and I ordered a few things from them, too. Their seed catalog is somewhat unusual because there aren't the typical pictures of their products. And where else can one buy carrot seeds and rutabaga seeds by the hundred-weight?
