spring meeting. Its hard nowadays for me to get scholarly because of my play writing. I'm finishing a farcical Western tragedy called "The Organ Grinder's Waltz" or Who says you can't get struck by a stray Bullet?" Next I'm doing an anti-War play called "No," a heavy, straight drama, which I'm writing because its based on a powerful true story and because I want to establish to my candy-ass friends that I can write what they'll consider noble & precious before I return my dramas to the human race-with-clay-feet and my more lovable clowns.

I don't mind the lack of news coverage the fair day, however, I would like to see one of our plays bust out a hit on Broadway just so's I could see Giles Fowler hot foot it from his orfice [sic] in K.C. Star to the Foolkiller with socks sloshing full of his own shit! It would have a dramatic touch to it. But as per usual, it [sic] such blooming affairs, when you need you ain't got it & when you get it, you got too much. Culture is perverse.
Sounds like you're very productive these days. Glad to hear it.

My best, Regards from all St Clair
