19TH Feb. 1978 Jack oboy oboy:

Received advance copy of the FOOLKILLER - wasn't much of your article (?) in it, but thanks for the kind words - and the pitchers reproduced quite well, I think. They made a boo-boo which I shall overlook - had me born in the Appalachians, which I merely visited - one of those many artists who seldom strayed from his place of birth - Alexandria - if the army hadn't come along I wouldn't have seen you in Chicago, or Colorado, or Utah, or Oklahoma. Thanks a lot for the boost - my son is always after me to "DO SOMETHING NEW" - frankly am in a rut, don't do nothing much. Maybe I will some day, but it takes more energy than I have. Guess I am on the skids. Didn't know KC was having a crime wave until I read Muhrer's piece - gosh, he better watch his writing or someone will fit him for a cement overcoat.
How are you? How is your wife? I'm hanging on barely - doc now trying to get my heart beating normal. EKG looked like this: drawing of flat line with two peaks in the middle doc gave me some new pills and have to go back in TWO weeks - used to be every underlined: TWO MONTHS. Poke sallat will fix me up.
