   I can't send in anything NEW -- my typewriter is on the blink -- and altho my son promised me a new one for Christmas, the new one is still in the offing.  Lack of money is the reason.
   I have a new, old one, that needs re-typing, "Marse John's Boy" -- that should be all right for the FOOLKILLER.

   And an oldie that "See Here, Marion Hargrove" said was "over the heads" of the average GI, which is a big tub of you-know what.  The "average GI" was just as smart as the "average professor" and that is a lot of who-struck-john, anyway you look at it.

   Had a letter from Harry M.Caudill once -- about his Night Comes to the Cumberlands.  Have no hope for the Appalachians, souls or not.  Coal Companies have no feeling -- no heart -- no nothing, but a desire to get the coal.  Comstock, editor of the Hillbilly, or ex-editor, is a case in point -- he sees nothing wrong with Strip Mining -- a blind spot, but then he is a Republican, and must have a lot of blind spots.
