My Dear Sherwood Anderson– Your letter of July 17? 7? came duly to hand and I hertily heartily? thank you for the same. I am much delighted to beword reword? rework? your books so liked in various countries and feel highly honoured to be one of your translators. My book of your translation was published on the unknown. The advertisement of the book appeared in the "Asahi-Shimbun" yesterday morning, so I at once instructed to the publisher "Shinchō-Sha" to send you five copies of it. I am very much ashamed of the poor appearance of the book. It is one of the series named "The New Selections from World Literature." I named my book "The Triumph of the Egg", for the greater number of the stories in it was selected from your book of the same name. As for the loyalty to the author, of course I persuaded the publisher as hard as I can, but to my greatest regret, it was in vain. The book is only a cheap edition, so you see, therefore they say they can not afford to pay the loyalty. I hope you will treat my publisher with generosity. Very Truly Yours Kinetaro Yoshida
