Monday, March 15, 1982 Dear Mr. Conroy,

      Here we are, celebrating the anniversary of your sending underlined:  The Fast Sooner Hound for Sean and Joshua!  The delay, of course, is largely due to a tendency toward procrastination (with delays of over six months I figure it is poor  form to declare having been too busy).  
      We have appreciated the book -- it is a very nice story, and it was kind of you to inscribe it.  That has helped Sean (just 5 years old now) to realize that real people do write the books we buy and take from the library.   Both the boys are great fans of books and stories.   This makes Grandpa Bowen very pleased and they always associate him with story reading and gift books.  Josh is at the listening and looking stage (almost 3) and Sean is just starting to sound out the simpler words.
      We last visited with my folks at Christmas in Chicago and look forward to them coming up for a few days early in the summer.
