May 26, 1963 Dear Mr. Conroy,

      Most of my children had never seen an autographed book and now they feel most important since they have one inscribed especially to them.  As our library is small we put it there, but the Third Grade makes very sure everyone reads what you wrote.  In fact, they make it sound as though you were an intimate friend.
      Thank you very much for Slappy and your thoughtfulness.
