Thursday - Dear Mr. Conroy,

    Just a note to tell  you I have re-read underlined:  The Disinherited.  (This time in a paperback.)  The first time I read it was when it first came out, and my father was very proud of you and your book.   I must tell you that I was deeply influenced by it, and underlined: "The World To Win", which I think is also as good!
    I hope we can get together sometime for lunch and some talk.  As you can see by the letterhead, I am involved in the underlined:  Dubious role of a minister - and I can tell you that I find that underlined:  The Disinherited was perhaps the voice of the most Christian conscience in Randolph county when it was written, unless I could place Bob Kingsbury and Jack Conroy in a dead heat for the "boner" (Tho I doubt if either of you would be either anxious or concerned to claim that title!
    It has been many years since I have spent any time in Moberly - Most recently I have been living abroad in Turkey, where I was engaged in Muslim studies and teaching in our American schools there!
   I re-read underlined:  The Disinherited last summer on vacation back in Moberly and I realized how much a social revolution had taken
