           These protests against the indiscriminate charges that Federal bureaus and departmental service are wasteful and an imposition upon taxpayers, may interest you.

Too fast and too far are organized efforts being carried to reduce the excessive costs of government in demanding "slashing" economy, irrespective of essential values. Even our Chicago Association of Commerce fails to disclaim the Chicago Tribune's attacks upon "Washington" as guilty of an extortionate invasion of State rights, which in his radio alarms its publisher carries so far as to liken the aggressions of the National Government to the "Sacking of Rome by the Vandals!
