Remsen, Feb 26, 1875 Dear Brother and SIster, Yours of yesterday is just received. I presume you have learned from the telegram that our dear father has gone home yesterday at half past eleven, his spirit left us. He suffered, I think, to the last, but seemed to die without special struggle. His voice was feeble, and the only thing I distinctly heard him say, since I have been home, was "I am very happy."
