in pencil [1972] Non-Labor day.

Jack oboy oboy:
Do you have Ben Hagglund's address? Do you think he might have any copies of Don West's TOIL AND HUNGER -

the little booklet that used some of my blockprints? I thought the Univ. of Va. library might like a copy since the liberry [sic] has some of my drawings - the booklet also has introduction by Jesse Stuart - who still seems to be yodeling in them Kentucky hills. You don't have any EXTRA copies of TOIL & HUNGER among your musty volumes from the lean years, do you?

No word from Janboe Ackerson since his card from Gay Paree - you think he remained in France? His chillun [sic] are

married, altho his wife was still teaching at a private school - in New Jersey I believe. Wonder he doesn't retire to Harpers Ferry - he was nuts about old John Brown, like Judy with Paul Bunyan. Harpers Ferry is now a slicked up Tourist Trap - lost all of its former ghost town charm. Cheers, JCR/.
