Jack I: Don't have any money to contribute to your Catlick [sic] friends in the Asiatic swamps. Need all I have pay bills. I heard the Catholic church is wealthy anyhoo, why do they need contributions?
Your sex literature was of no help to me. Was looking at all my scars last night and am surprised with all the cutting they did I wasn't
changed into a female.
Don't rightly know about Spiro and the Washington Post - the POST tried to get me to subscribe today but I passed it by. For three
weeks I haven't seen a Sunday paper and you know - I haven't missed them. As to being liberal, I suppose you might call the POST a peculiar kind of liberal paper, but not as liberal as St Louis Post dispatch. The Post here is all out for black citizens and of course Israel. I agree with Toynbee that there never was any excuse for Israel. I recall the Jewish shopkeepers during the Depression Years, even damned by their own children for selling shoddy goods and spoiled food to the blacks. The blacks still remember that, and burn down Jewish shops when they get a chance. They burned down a grocery store a few blocks away from here the other night and my daughter said the own appeared on TV telling what a great liberal he was. I've known him for 17 years and not once in 17 years did he ever make a liberal remark. The blacks knew this, so they gutted his store. Nothing like Albert Maltz or Mile Gold around now and the Jews have all changed their names to Smith, Jones and even Rogers. Those Jews make me sick. Had a shooting here of black youth whose father is a big shot gangster, kingpin in number rackets in Va. and Washington - young blacks rioted and burned - nothing in press about the victim's father being a big shot gangster. If the black had been Italian and in the Mafia it would have been all over the paper.
Folk festival sounds like a good deal, hope you had fun even tho tired out. Heard from Ackerson long time ago - Christmas - time I guess, sent me announcement of his forthcoming poetry book. Think I saw him
once at Harper's Ferry when my wife and I were on Va side of the river visiting friends. About 50 lbs overweight as I recall. No more peeps from H H Lewis or Ben Hagglund? Jack II. [[h/w] Judy & his friend of Paul Bunyan scheme went to Alaska and back - the friend lost his shirt, some $15,000 I believe. The idea and Alaska trip failed, But Judy still thinks big: says he has $10,000 sculpture job in future, and $1,000 portrait commission. Meanwhile Judy says he lives on $25 week from Mobile County News, a weekly! Same old Judy.
