Judy never did say whether he rec'd the ones sent him - maybe they shocked his Dixiecrat heart & mind?!  Also, he is a bit of a prude - I made some remark about his late friend Romany Marie, of Greenwich Village and bawled me out for questioning her virtue!  Chrise sake, she was living with paramour and he worked in the cafe (Marchand) entertaining the customers - she "mothered" Judy when he was in New York evidently -
