Saturday - 21 Jack I:

Typewriter busted - no money to repair, since the typewriter repair places in area run a "racket" I call it - package deal from $15 to $20 bucks to fix a typewriter regardless of how big or little the job!
Drinking rebel corn juice - may shorten my life, or prolong it - dont know. doctors dont know nuther - they guess at it - man dies of heart attack with/or without whiskey. As of today sent you via parcel post 6 magazines of the Free Press variety - East Village Other and Wash. Free Press. My daughter won't read them any more on account the excessive use of four-letter words she finds boring, and I second her disapproval. If it is for shock, it fails. If it denotes progress and revolution it stinks of immaturity and will influence no one except those hordes of unwashed hippies who have nothing to live for anyhoo. One Wash. Free Press did carry an interesting story on Kentucky couple being persecuted for bringing democracy to the Appalachians, but no underlined: follow-up story. What happened? Just silence.
Is this any way to run a free press?
