   I have been a fan of your writing for a good while now and have just moved from Chicago to Columbia to teach at University of Missouri.  It was great to see the article about you in the underlined: Tribune (or was it the underlined:  Missourian ?)  last week.
   I am writing to ask you to join in endorsing the 100th anniversary fund appeal of the Charlie H. Kerr Company, America's oldest labor and socialist publisher.  Some items on Kerr's recent revival and a list of people sponsoring the "Friends of Kerr" are enclosed.  We are not asking for contributions but for the lending of your name and prestige to the appeal.
